Kenia Thompson is a television host, producer, communication educator, and strategist with more than 20 years of experience using storytelling and strategic communication to connect people, organizations, and communities.
As the host of Black Issues Forum on PBS North Carolina, she leads engaging discussions that explore the issues, voices, and experiences shaping communities across North Carolina and beyond. With more than a decade of experience teaching communication in higher education, Kenia combines academic expertise with real-world application to help leaders and professionals communicate with clarity, confidence, and impact.
Her work also extends into nonprofit marketing and strategic communications, where she helps mission-driven organizations strengthen their brands, clarify their messaging, engage communities, and tell stories that deepen awareness and support. Across her work, Kenia brings together media, marketing, education, and communication to help organizations connect their mission to the people they serve.
She is the founder of WordCrumbs and author of Conversations Beyond the Screen, both rooted in her passion for authentic human connection in an increasingly digital world.
Whether in the classroom, on stage, on screen, or working alongside organizations, Kenia's mission is simple: to elevate voices, strengthen communication, and create conversations that matter.
