Mills Scholarship Foundation and North Carolina Central Law School cordially invite you to help us keep Janice’s memory and passion for education alive as we present the third annual <em>“Rising Stars”</em> Concert.  The concert will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at the Hayti Heritage Center Performance Hall beginning at 7:30pm.</p>
<p>This year’s concert will feature national recording artists Stanley Baird and Yolanda Rabun. Also performances by two outstanding vocalists, Bertha Young and Henry Lovett.</p>
<p>Tickets are on sale for $25 advance and $30 at the door.  Purchase tickets at the Hayti box office 919-683-1709, ext.21, or online at <a href="http://jlmrising3.eventbrite.com" target="_blank">jlmrising3.eventbrite.com</a>.  The proceeds from this concert will provide funding for scholarships that will be awarded to aspiring law school students.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The St. Joseph’s Historic Foundation, Inc. will host the 3rd Annual Hayti Heritage Celebrity Golf Tournament on Friday, July 15, 2011 at Falls Village Golf Club, 115 Falls Village Dr., Durham. Our event matches amateur golfers and celebrities for a summer day filled with great camaraderie and fun for the sole purpose of raising funds for St. Joseph’s Historic Foundation, Inc. and Hayti Heritage Center’s arts, education, and historic preservation programs.</p>
<p>“Noted celebrities have committed to support the Foundation in its efforts by appearing, playing, and lending their name to support our cause”, states Wendell Davis, Golf Tournament Committee Chair and Board Chair. “This is a team effort with board members, corporate supporters, and volunteers all pitching in to raise funds for a worthy non-profit that provides valuable programs to the Durham Community.”</p>
<p>The Falls Village Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course carved through scenic Carolina pines and hardwood trees. The rolling terrain provides dramatic elevation changes. The peaceful setting offers an unforgettable and challenging golf experience for players of all abilities.<br />
