Join Durham Central Park and St. Joseph’s Historic Foundation for AUTHENTIC HAYTIAN FOOD & DANCE at Hayti Heritage Center for the 4th annual Meals from the Market 2009 Fundraiser, Saturday, September 19th at 7:00 PM. Haitian native and former Pilobolus dancer Gaspard Louis will present a modern dance piece performed by his company Gaspard and Dancers in the St. Joseph’s Performance Hall (a special sneak preview of his work and company). The work will be approximately 25 minutes, following the performance guest will be invited to enjoy a traditional Haitian meal. Your hosts for the evening Jodee Nimerichter and Dianne Pledger. Our menu: Haitian mushrooms rice & beans, Haitian beet salad, grio (fried pork), baked chicken, fried plantains. Limited seating for only 50 person, all ages welcome and dress is casual. $50 per person (a portion is tax deductible).
